Production Directorate
The heart of the Institute’s production beats in Pallini. Two production lines with a total area of 1,000sqm are housed in a building area of 5,000sqm. The production and quality control areas are constructed according to the European standards (EU GMPs) and the following pharmaceutical forms are produced in them.
Production of potable solutions/Methadone hydrochloride solution
In 2005, a modern, fully automated, high-capacity production line for drinking solutions was inaugurated. Methadone is produced exclusively in the Institute’s facilities, and more specifically in the above automated line, at highly competitive prices internationally, with significant benefits for the Ministry of Health and the state.
Production and packaging of solid oral dosage
The solids production line of IFT M.A.E. started its operation in 2009, when the facon production of its proprietary products was transferred to it. In the tablet production line, orphan drugs are manufactured at highly competitive prices internationally, such as:
- Acetazolamide (eye disease drug: antiglaucoma)
- Hydrocortisone (anti-inflammatory corticosteroid)
- Dianycotyl: (antifungal)
In the Institute’s premises there is a modern pilot plant (testing room) that can be used by other pharmaceutical companies for trial productions of pharmaceutical products.
